Marchon Sports & Social Club

situated on Coach Road, Whitehaven, Cumbria.

It was formerly a works social club but is now independently run as a community hall, extensively used by local sporting and social welfare groups, but available to hire at the weekends. 

The club has a lounge bar; a games room featuring 2 full size snooker tables and a dart board, and a large main hall which is available for hire for any type of function.  The main hall can seat up to 250 people.  There are bars serving alcoholic and soft drinks in all rooms.


We have a licence to hold sporting activities such as boxing, badminton matches, karate gradings;

parties such as weddings, engagements or christenings;

entertainment including live groups, charity nights, bingo and even clairvoyants! 

Not for nothing are we known as the friendly club


The club has a loyalty scheme which anyone is eligible to join if they wish. 

Christmas Party nights 2019 our renowned parties are on December 13th , 14th, 20th and 21st this year. Entertainment is provided by a fabulous live party band from the North East and a disco.There is a cold buffet, and a glass of wine on entry to get your party going.  Tables are reserved for each separate booking.  Party novelties and festive crackers abound and the room is festooned with party lights and decorations. Tickets are a very reasonable £22.  So what are you waiting for - ring for a booking.  Deposit payable at the time of booking and the balance to be paid by 1st November.

We regularly hold Family Nights where all the family are welcome to help our fund to refurbish the club. 

For halloween we have entertainment from a magician, and party games with DJ Gaz and Karl, hot dogs and candy floss, and prizes for the best costumes.  A raffle and tombola.

New Years Eve has party games galore, a disco and live entertainment, and, you can bring your own food!   However, you cannot bring your own drink.

There is a large car park underneath the club for the benefit of our customers.
